The Sandusky Fire Department operates Fireboat 961, the "William O. Bird II"
from a dock at the Sandusky Boat Landing at Water St & Shelby St.

Fireboat 961
Built by Northwind Marine, approx 2007, is a 30' Argus hull.
The vessel has twin Mercury 250 HP outboards.
It is rated at Approx 1500 gpm.

The City of Sandusky, Ohio is located between Cleveland and Toledo on the shores
of Lake Erie.  It is a popular tourist destination known as the home to the Roller Coaster
Capital of the World at Cedar Point featuring some 18 coasters. Sandusky is also
the County Seat for Erie County. It has a well sheltered harbor with many recreational
boating marinas and shoreline facilities.
